Taiwan and China Clinic Tour

Music is a powerful art form; one that can bridge the gap between cultures from all over the world. It is a universal language that virtually anyone can understand. Music is many things, but music is nothing if it is not shared with other people. This is why I enjoy performing and teaching, because it gives me a chance to share my knowledge, my experience, and my music with other people.

This summer I joined my good friend, Kaipo Lan, in presenting clinics at schools all across Taiwan and China. Going to a total of 8 schools, we presented topics on marimba technique and rudimental snare drumming. All capped off by a joint recital in the brand new Harbin Concert Hall in China. It was an amazing experience that I won't soon forget and I thank everyone who helped support our travels. My goal for this trip was to share my musical experiences with students overseas. While I met this goal with enthusiasm, I found that they shared something with me as well. To all my new friends in Taiwan and China, I hope I was able to teach you as much as you taught me.
